“Anxious in Austin” Group

Group Facilitator(s): Marianne Stout, Ph.D., Thomas Smithyman, Ph.D.

Our “Anxious in Austin” anxiety support group is open to men and women who struggle with anxiety. You do not need to have a specific anxiety disorder to attend, just a desire to learn about anxiety and how to live effectively with fears and worries (which affect us all). Each week the group will cover a new topic area designed to help people living with anxiety (including dealing with difficult thoughts, relaxation and stress-management, talking to friends and family about anxiety, what to do when you feel overwhelmed, coping with perfectionism, and many others). The focus of the group is to learn, try, and discuss new coping skills and ways of thinking. Group members will also have the ability to meet others who are struggling with anxiety in their lives, and give and receive support.

The fee for our groups is $50 per week.

Time: Mondays from 5:30 to 6:45 pm
