I am a Clinical Psychology Ph.D. student at the University of Texas at Austin, where I also received my master’s in Clinical Psychology. I completed my bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a minor in Interdisciplinary Leadership Studies at the University of New Brunswick.

Over the past three years I have provided individual therapy and assessments at UT’s Psychology Training Clinic, working with individuals with a variety of diagnoses including social anxiety, generalized anxiety, obsessive compulsive disorder, panic disorder, body dysmorphic disorder, and major depressive disorder, as well as those struggling with health anxiety, perfectionism, and interpersonal difficulties. I also conduct research on improving intimate relationships and sexual health, with a particular focus on the impact of menopause, of which I have published literature and have given presentations at international conferences.

I strive to provide compassionate, individualized, and goal-directed treatment so that my clients can lead meaningful and fulfilling lives. I utilize tailored, evidence-based practices primarily from cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT). CBT posits that your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are all connected. For example, anxiety often emerges from how your mind interprets the situation and assumes the worst will happen. Together, we will learn to catch anxious or negative thoughts in the moment, question them, and work toward doing the things you have been avoiding or fearing, while also building strategies to help you feel less overwhelmed and respond differently when anxiety shows up.

I aim to provide a safe environment where we can discuss all aspects of your life (e.g., goals, occupation, social relationships, family, culture). While I bring expertise in selecting and leading evidence-based treatment, you are the expert on you; together, we will work toward getting you to where you want to be. If you would like to explore working together, feel free to reach out at kate@anxietyaustin.com, by phone at 512-879-1836 ext. 813, or through the contact page. My standard rate is $75 per 50-minute session, and so I can get to know you, we will start with an initial assessment, with a fee of $100.
