KATY ROTHFELDER, MA, LPC
LICENSED PROFESSIONAL COUNSELOR
SHE/HER

I am a licensed mental health clinician. I specialize in supporting individuals suffering with OCD and related disorders as well as neurodivergent children and adolescents. I also enjoy working with individuals and families experiencing behavioral challenges and/or life stressors such as grief and loss.
I believe clients and their families who have come to therapy have made courageous choices to seek services, and I start from a place of compassion to assess the needs of those I work with. I am passionate about helping clients in all bodies and all abilities from an evidence-based, therapeutically supportive and collaborative stance with confidence and hope in their capacity to grow and thrive in the life most meaningful to them. I strive to embody anti-discrimination, anti-oppression, anti-racism, and anti-ableism in all that I do.

I am an advocate and cheerleader for compassionately tailored, evidence based practice including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), and Exposure Response Prevention (ERP). I commit to these empirically supported treatments with flexibility and curiosity for each client’s own journey, fitting treatment to address the values, cultures, and needs of each person.
I earned my Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication Studies from Southwestern University with a focus on interpersonal factors in disclosing and relating to mental illness, and my Master of Arts in Counseling from St. Edward’s University. I also hold a Masters degree in Behavior Analysis from the University of Nevada-Reno and am a Board Certified Behavior Analyist Candidate under the supervision of Julianne Bell, BCBA. I have gained clinical experience in school settings and amongst multi-disciplinary teams for challenges related to OCD and related disorders, neurodivergent populations, grief and loss, as well as other comorbid stressors. I have completed a number of advanced trainings in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, SPACE (Supportive Parenting of Anxious Childhood Emotions), Exposure and Response Prevention, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.
